Volta has support for sending or receiving tempo information built-in. This function makes your visuals look much more in sync with your music. Hereβs how to enable it.
β
π‘ Ableton Link is a system for various pieces of software and hardware to share a common tempo. A full list of other products that support Ableton Link can be found here: https://www.ableton.com/en/link/products/
π‘ Ableton Link works by sending and receiving tempo information over your local network
β
β
β
1. Go to Settings > Audio > Tempo, and click the Ableton Link Settings dropdown
π‘ If there are any other pieces of Link-enabled software/hardware on your network, you will see the number displayed next to the title of the Tempo section in Settings
β
β
2. Tick Receive Tempo via Link if you would like to receive tempo information from other Link-enabled products on your local network
π‘ This will disable you being able to enter your own desired tempo manually into the Tempo box in Settings if another piece of software or hardware on your network is sending Link tempo data
β
β
3. Tick Send Tempo via Link if you would like to send tempo information from Volta to other Link-enabled products on your local network
π‘ This will mean that any changes you type into the Tempo box in settings will automatically update the Tempo of other Link-enabled products on your network
β
β
4. Map your visuals to the tempo following this tutorial.
